What if the customer wants to buy or sell another home with me?
Clever is owed a referral fee for each transaction you complete with the customer for the next 2 years. The referral fee due is as detailed in this handbook.
What if I bring my own buyer to a Clever listing?
Clever’s seller referral fee only comes from the listing commission collected on the transaction. You are welcome to double-end — we won't take a referral fee from the buyer's agent commission you collect.
Can I charge an admin fee or attempt to negotiate a higher commission?
Additional charges make both you and Clever seem like a bait and switch. This is certainly not the reputation either of us wants to build. Please refrain from charging additional fees or attempting to negotiate a higher commission.
How does the customer receive their Clever Cash Back?
After the transaction closes, you’ll pay us the referral fee owed. Once received, we’ll pay the customer their Clever Cash Back via an e-check within 30 days of the transaction's close.
Do I need to disclose Clever Cash Back on any closing documents?
Because Clever Cash Back is paid by Clever directly to the customer, it happens outside of the home purchase. This means you don’t have to disclose the payment on any of the closing documents.
However, if the mortgage lender would like the payment to be disclosed, we are happy to work with them. Feel free to call our Concierge Team at (614) 363-2845 in this situation.

What if the Clever buyer wants to buy one of my listings outside of Clever?
Clever’s buyer referral fee only comes from the buyer’s agent commission collected on the transaction. You are welcome to double-end without Clever taking a referral fee from the listing commission you collect.
